Ovid Syllabus

This class is supplemented by Latin Lab?, in which AP students meet with Latin II/III students, orally present sections of the Pro Archia, and engage in competitive review, oral Latin and culture study activities.

Summer Assignments

Retreat

The retreat was held from noon September 12 through noon September 14, at Camp Baker. We cooked and ate in Gratke, slept in the McDonald cabins, and held class sessions in Gratke.

Bring the following to the retreat:

  • Sleeping bag
  • Towel
  • Normal gear for two nights away from home
  • Sturdy, closed-toe walking shoes
  • A flashlight
  • Sweater and rain gear
  • Stuff to play in fields or on dunes
  • Your Latin texts for the year
  • A calendar or planner for your binder
  • A list of all the classes, clubs, jobs, or other commitments you have for the fall term — check your family calendar, too

During the retreat, we:

  • Read all of Catullus 64
  • Tried out all of the AP writing formats
  • Looked over the plan for the year
  • Develop stronger teamwork
  • Worked on time management skills
  • Enjoyed camp
